John is driven by the positive results & impacts on coworkers, derived from hard work & constant effort at improvements. Roasting since ’03, outta our Surry Hills café back in the day & now in Botany. This here main page covers coffee, food, cafés & did we mention coffee.

Welcome to Single O (we've dropped the 'rigin roasters' bit).

We opened in 2003 in Surry Hills & spun a few customers out with our fruit driven blend, affection for our then-roaster named Boris & our range of single origins. Thankfully people warmed to it all & today, in addition to our Surry Hills café & brew bar, We have a roastworks in Botany, where we roast for like-minded coffee folk. In 2015 we hit the town with a café on York St in Sydney CBD, too.

We are forever sourcing, sampling, cupping, roasting, measuring, calibrating, tweaking, blending & tasting. For all our joking-around, we take our coffee damn seriously.
